Windy Saddle Park Trailhead

Jeffco trailhead on Lookout Mountain Road for the Beaver Brook and Chimney Gulch trails, and the launch for paragliders and hang gliders off Mount Zion.

Windy Saddle Park, run by Jefferson County Parks & Open Space, sits on Lookout Mountain Road. Hikers use the Beaver Brook Trail, mountain bikers ride Chimney Gulch Trail, and paragliders and hang gliders launch from 7,059-foot Mount Zion, where strong winds come down from the Continental Divide. Road cyclists pass through on the 4.3-mile Lookout Mountain Road climb, which gains 1,200 feet.

Besides the main trailhead at 1277 Lookout Mountain Road there are access points at 1678 Lookout Mountain Road (Chimney Gulch) and 1075 Colorow Road (Colorow Point). The trails connect to Lookout Mountain Nature Center and its preserve.

Hours are the county open space hours from the JCPOS Regulations page (https://www.jeffco.us/1583/Regulations).
