Clear Creek Whitewater Park

About seven blocks of built whitewater course on Clear Creek across from Lions Park, free to use and unsupervised. For paddlers who can handle fast, cold water.

The City of Golden’s whitewater course runs along the north bank of Clear Creek, across the street from Lions Park, for about seven city blocks. The top section has drops and pools for different levels with some fast eddies, the middle is broad, shallow surf waves among large boulders, used for gates, and the bottom has bigger surf and drops.

The city says paddlers need to be proficient in fast, cold water, especially at high flows, and that the course is unsupervised: everyone enters at their own risk. Drop-in use is free. Vanover Park is the take-out for anyone continuing downstream.
