Golden History Park

Free outdoor history park along Clear Creek in downtown Golden: 1800s cabins and outbuildings moved from the Pearce Ranch, an 1876 schoolhouse and a Native American Arbor. Buildings open on event days.

Golden History Park, run by Golden History Museum & Park, re-creates a late-1800s mountain ranch along Clear Creek in downtown Golden. Many of its buildings, among them cabins, a barn, a chicken coop and a two-seat outhouse, came from the Pearce Ranch in Golden Gate Canyon; they were moved log by log from 1994 and rebuilt over four years, and the park opened in spring 1999. The 1876 Guy Hill schoolhouse was moved here in 1976, and the Native American Arbor was built in 2024.

The grounds are open every day from 5 am to 11 pm, with restrictions, and admission is free. The buildings themselves open now and then, for example at the summer open house, when volunteers act as interpreters.
