Colorado Railroad Museum

A 15-acre railyard of more than 100 locomotives, cars and cabooses, with a working roundhouse, an 1880s-style depot museum and train rides on set days. Adults $12, ages 2–17 $5.

The Colorado Railroad Museum keeps more than 100 historic locomotives, passenger cars and cabooses on a 15-acre railyard. Visitors can watch restoration work in the Roundhouse and see rotating exhibits and an HO model railroad in the replica 1880s Depot Museum, and browse the Depot Store. Train rides run on scheduled days for a separate fare.

General admission is 9 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Sunday: $12 adults, $10 seniors 60 and over, $5 ages 2 to 17, free under 2 and for members. It is closed Mondays, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Day, and New Year’s Eve and Day, and general admission is not sold during Day Out with Thomas dates or Polar Express evening performances. On some busy special-event days only a combined admission and train-ride ticket is sold, and it costs $5 more bought on site than online.
